Brian Rodriguez Faces Felony Counts of Aggravated and Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child Under 14, Plus Misdemeanor Pornography Charge; Investigation Ongoing

LULING, Tx. — Brian Rodriguez, a teacher's assistant and youth leader from Luling, Texas, was arrested and extradited on multiple serious child sexual offense charges. Caldwell County Sheriff's Office investigators, with assistance from the Texas Rangers, traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, to apprehend Rodriguez and return him to Texas. He now faces formal charges in Caldwell County related to alleged crimes against a child or children.
Rodriguez is charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child (a first-degree felony), continuous sexual assault of a child under 14 (also a first-degree felony), and displaying pornographic material to a child (a Class A misdemeanor under Texas law). The investigation remains ongoing and active. Authorities are urging parents to speak openly with their children, particularly if they had any contact with Rodriguez through his roles as a teaching assistant or youth leader.
Rodriguez worked as a teacher's aide at a private school in Luling, confirmed by Detective Marie Reinarz of the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division. However, no specific private school name is mentioned across any sources. Separately, KVUE notes that Lockhart ISD issued a statement clarifying Rodriguez has no ties to their district, likely to address any public confusion given Caldwell County's multiple school systems.
