Louisiana Substitute Teacher Admits to Abuse, Charged with Rape and Battery

MONROE, LA. — On September 9, 2025, Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a complaint of a possible sex crime at Richwood High School in Richwood, Louisiana. Geoterrius Spivey, a substitute teacher, was interviewed at the sheriff’s office annex after being read his Miranda rights, which he waived to provide a statement. According to court documents, Spivey claimed that a 15-year-old female student entered his classroom at around 10:45 a.m. to "hang out," made sexual comments, and leaned toward him. He admitted guiding her hand to his private area over his clothes, exposing himself, and directing her to perform a sexual act, which they engaged in until other students approached the room.
The victim's testimony painted a more coercive picture: Spivey had previously found her social media account and admitted to viewing it. Once in the classroom, he allegedly placed her in a headlock, causing her to fall, then grabbed her, forced her head toward his genital area despite her resistance, and pulled her hair to continue the sexual acts. When called to the school’s main office, Spivey allegedly admitted, "I inappropriately grabbed the student."
After noting inconsistencies between the accounts, investigators confronted Spivey, who admitted to the sexual abuse. An arrest warrant was issued, and he was booked into the Ouachita Correctional Center on two counts of second-degree rape, sexual battery, and simple battery.
